Hippocamp Egg
The Hippocamp, sometimes called a water horse is a creature that is sometimes found in the Mediterranean waters around Greece. The quality of the water is also favored by merfolk, the blue known the world over. These creatures are shy and tend to nest in ship wrecks and along coral reefs and sand bars. The variety in color depends on the environment in which the nest is built.
Due to the rarity of these nests and in accordance with article 36H6 of the Magical Creatures Protection act, we harvest only after the young and parents leave the nest. The eggs left behind are termed ‘decoy eggs’ by those of us in the industry. They are the dormant empty eggs hidden in the nest to protect the live eggs from predators and thus carry no danger to the buyer of hatching at the wrong moment.
